The Story of Casa Christa
It all started with a single wine press house. There was no detailed plan, no ready-made business model — just a crumbling building on Kis Gella Hill and one determination: to show what this place could become.
In the years that followed, six more press houses joined the first. Each was restored in Tuscan style — white render, natural materials, that Mediterranean stillness you can recreate here in the Lake Balaton Highlands. We planted two thousand almond trees around the estate. Today, Casa Christa spans 45,000 square metres.
We have never thought of it as just a place to stay. Rather as an estate — where the experience unfolds naturally. Where gastronomy, nature and our guests are all part of the same story. Where the morning view from the terrace matters just as much as a Michelin-recommended dinner.
This is how we think about Casa Christa
We believe that true rest is more than a comfortable bed and a good dinner. We think in the spirit of agriturismo — where the estate, the kitchen, nature and our guests do not simply coexist, but are woven together into something whole.

DetailsFrom wine tours to horse riding — the best experiences of the Balaton Highlands are within easy reach.
The estate lies in a protected natural area, with plenty of hiking trails nearby. The hilly landscape and unique panorama offer unforgettable walks.
The small village is home to several riding stables. You can also head outdoors on horseback to explore the area — the views across the wine region are especially beautiful from the saddle.
You can cycle across the hills between the small villages, with beautiful views along the way. On request, we are happy to help arrange bike rental.
We maintain close friendships with winemakers on both the southern and northern shores of Lake Balaton. We are happy to help organise personalised wine tours and tastings.
